first thing is to establish if the fenomenae excists, and what is the
nature of it.
in the discussion sofar the question if it can be problematic is secondary.
to answer the question however in that respect ; what is acceptable 3
cents, 4, 5 or 6. howmany beatings are still tasteful?
i think the A6 could in potential do better , certainly in
"tightness"of sound, maybe also on the field of fm (a previous part of
this discussion).maybe strictness b.e. with cleaner higher sounds could
also be a way to descibe it. or a beautiful lower sound longer lasting
with only a veryslow modulationeffect caused by a very small microtonal
difference . and then i mean slow for all oscillators.
in this perspective i feel a synth with the potential of the A6 , with
the technoloy of today, simply should be better tunable then lets say an
20 years old dinosaurier. this goes beyond the discussion of analog
versus phasesynced digital.
so on one hand it would increase the soundpotential of the A6, at least
you would have the choise to make it more ""analog"".
on the other hand making clear what is , also makes clear what
shouldn't be.
regarding this aspect : for me changing the most annoying
oscillatorchips (their deviation was by the way above +/-3cent, their
slowest drifting was at least 0ne cycle per second) greatly improved the
instrument.
