Not to mention Yahoo's infamous Web Beacons. Sure, you can opt out, but you have to do it for every browser you might conceivably use.

And then, if you decide to delete your stored cookies, you have to opt out *again*!

I would really prefer the mailing list we have now, possibly supplemented by a website (www.a6.org has already been taken, dammit;), and I would be willing to help making this happen, although I cannot offer any bandwidth.
