>a lot of you guys have multiple synths, I'd be very interested to know what
kind of mixers you use. I need something >inexpensive for a couple of
projects, but I don't want to ruin the sound of the synths with cheap op
amps etc...

I had exactly this problem a little while ago... I had some friends coming
around with gear to jam with me, I had recently bought the a6, I was
thinking of a drum machine, and what the hell was I going plug it all into..
It ultimately came down to boiling down the question "what the hell do I
need?" I eventually figured out that I was quite broke and a large portion
of what you pay for in a little desk is sliders, which I have in cubase (ok,
not physical, but they work) AND pre's, which I already own in a rack unit.
Getting a little desk would have been nice but what I really wanted was JUST
to MIX. So I bought the 16 channel eurorack, it was REALLY cheap (something
like $60), but for jamming and mucking around it is perfect and if I want to
get picky and lay down a NICE track I just patch the one channel into my
sound card and record one channel at a time (Like I used to anyway!). I know
that's the cheap and nasty method but it works until I can justify spending
$400+ on something that doesn't make noise ***like ANOTHER synth;-)***
