[A6] OT: mixers

I use a line mixer by Mackie -- the LM3204. It gives you 48 inputs
(including FX returns) in just a few rack spaces, sounds excellent, and
allows you to continue feeding your synth habit without running out of
channels. :)

You can find LM3204's used on eBay for around $400 usually. I highly
recommend them if you need a lot of high quality inputs in a small
space.

Oh, almost forgot, also has two mic pre's, same design as the 8-bus
consoles.

a lot of you guys have multiple synths, I'd be very interested to know
what kind of mixers you use. I need something inexpensive for a couple
of projects, but I don't want to ruin the sound of the synths with cheap
op amps etc...

I've been offered some old Yamaha Mv802s at a good price, but I don't
know this unit and I'm wondering whether some of the new compacts desks
(yamaha, Behringer, goodam cheap!) are any good. I'll never use the
preamps or eqs...

any opinions? What is working well for you?

Richard
