[A6] old habits die hard

I think the only hope is that they spin the A6 into a lower-cost 8-voice or
rackmount unit that shares its OS. I can't believe they haven't done this,
it's practically done. Just throw it in a box, leave off some knobs and call
it done. I think they would sell a few units there, but what do I know. -jl

Even offering to pay for a new OS is not going to be useful; they spent SO
much money (old Alesis) that new Alesis decided to keep on making A6s, even
though it is NOT a successful product. Compared to the real moneymakers:
ADAT, Midiverb 2, HR16 Drum Machine, this was not a popular model. THey
probably only make A6s because they have parts and it is already DONE. To
spend more time on it would not make it sell better; it is already the great
synth that was promised, what we are asking for is still "trivial OS
details" - only important to people who already are customers.
