[A6] breath controllers

Hi all

Somewhat out of my depth

I am trying to write some breath controlled patches for the A6 to trigger from a yamaha wx5. The yammy outputs on CC2 which I have routed to CCA on the A6. I am then trying to route CCA to stuff like VCA  envelope level, filetre frequency. So far so good  - the Wx5 will control the A6 but  I am not getting the control of dynamics and volume I would expect. Are there some golden principles about breath controller patches on the A6 or other synths I should know. 

Or a source for this info on the web??

Or existant examples of breath patches I could study.

any help would be most welcome in this moment!
