[A6] Mod wheel causing midi transmit buffer overflow

Whenever I use the mod wheel, even if my sequencer isn't running, I get a 
midi transmit buffer overflow.  I have midi set to 'thin' in global mode so 
I'm kinda at a loss as to what could be going on.  Anyone have any ideas?
