thanks guys, I'm on the path now. Reserving the mono voice at least means
that the poly voices will not jump in and use those voices messing up the
mono lines - and the ability to use the 4 aux and main outputs to get 4 poly
voices (or two stereo) as well as few monos is not a bad workaround
