the notes of the note mode are sent out to midi outputs

I use it fire my Jupiter 8 all the time over midi :)

is a global setting that *only* affects the A6's internal keyboard, before
the note messages are passed to the synth engine.  It *does* work in mix
mode, but it is not very useful in mix mode (if you want automatic chords in
a mix mode voice, stack up the voices you need on an overlapping keyboard
range and set the pitch offsets as necessary) since it will play a chord for
every note pressed, no matter which mix voice (and you'll get strange
results if the chord spans beyond the keyboard range of the mix voice you're
playing, since one note of the chord will then be playing a different
sound).
