you can DAMAGE gear leaving it on 24/7/365.  I've seen this myth so many
times that I got tired of going into detail.

	How DID that goofy myth start/perpetuate? To me it seemed such an
obviously erroneous concept I can't see how it ever gained any semblance of
validity.
