Sounds like the common "corrupt patch" problem.  The A6 retrieves the last accessed patch when powered up; if one is downloaded and is corrupted, this will happen.

Try holding down soft button (SB) #1 while turning the power on.  This forces the A6 to load the default patch, not the last accessed one.

If this works, you're OK until you surf the presets and stumble onto the corrupt one, which will hang the machine again.  Pay attention to which bank the corrupt patch is in - if it is in the user bank, then you'll have to power up while holding down SB#3. This completely resets the user RAM, you'll lose all the user patches and mixes.

If the corrupt patch is in the preset bank, they are in flash memory and the entire bank has to be reloaded.  Power up with SB#1 and reload the preset banks, SB #3 will not reset them.
