It is not so strange really..the A6 oscillators are modelled after the Moog
Modulars. So is the moog filter. It is analog.
And it has high quality outputs and VCA making a very beefy sound. The thing
is,
on a recording, it won't matter as much whether its a Moog modular, Minimoog
or Andromeda that's doing the bassline. The listeners won't care. They hear
a pleasant sound, and that's it.
No synth on an album is supposed to sound HUUUGE and oomphy, then it would
just drown out everything else. They are mixed together carefully. But you
know this already :)
Played singularly however, they can blow the roof off the building..but it
shouldn't be doing that in a mix, then the mixing tech should get fired,
hehe. I've made some amazing sustained bass sounds on my A6, so big and fat
the windows start rattling on the lower notes! My landlords (very cute and
kind old people thankfully) came down yesterday wondering why the house was
vibrating.
I said "it was probably just a big truck passing on the highway. I didn't
play loud". Hehe. All the little pleasures :)
