for a 'normal' single Program it would be a bit un-practical 
to amplify / EQ / FX the outputs individually

well, in case of a drummodule individual outputs are an essential must-have
as you really want/need to treat all sounds differently with regards to 
levels, panning, EQ etc.

in a word: yes. you can never have too many channels 
tip: make sure you have lots of FX sends and (dedicated!) returns as well
