Thanks for the link to the tips pdf....I had found that and have been
reading it through it. Lots practical information in there for an analog
novice!

I suppose there is not much useful information that I can offer at this
point, but will offer up what I do know.

I got what I consider a good deal on the A6 from Audio Design and Service,
the Alesis Service Center out of Hollywood, CA. They had a "buy it now"
price of 1800.00. I missed that one, called them on the phone and they did
have another unit which I got for 1750.00. The unit is in good shape, has a
3 month warranty, latest OS, manuals, pedal, etc. My unit did have two
knobs, one small one large, which exhibited some chipping or wearing of the
silver alloy looking tops of the knobs. I called Audio Design and they
subsequently sent me two new ones and paid shipping, so so far these guys
are stellar in my book.

I got a 2mb Sram card for 58.00 out of Canada from a link here on the
board. That was cheaper than what had been posted here previously.

I have been using a Quiklok Z 716L as my keyboard stand for the Kurzweil. I
bought a the second tier extensions for it specifically for the A6. If
anyone is using a larger 76 or 88 note controller below an A6, I can
recommend this config. It allows me to sit comfortably at my master keyboard
and still reach all of the konbs on the A6. The second tier will adjust
downward pretty low.

My next learning will be how to take a bunch of individual patches I have
found and get them all together so that I can sysex them over to the A6. I
have dl'd all of the banks from the Alesis site which allow me to send an
entire bank at one time. What I do not know is how to congeal a bunch of
individual program files like the ones here on the site into a bank and send
it over. Any advice there would be appreciated. Did not see anything about
how to do that in the archives or the manual, but then again I'm from
Mississippi.
