the controller issue ain't such a disturbing thing for me on the
moment(just tried it a bit, on a high resonance sound)
the tuning , sofar the discussion is concentrating on microtonality.
let's say it this way: my old minimoog is worst.
the autotune mostly is sufficient for people and once on his tune the
A6 stays remarkably stable on it( for an analog afcourse, during a gig
you might have to press autotune maybe a few times but that is it.
the jp8 is a great machine: stable , a very good basic sound , easy to
operate on. however it's not multitimbral. you really have to be lucky
even to get it midified in an elaborate way and even then it only can
play two patches at a time.
no effects, no send of controllerdata ( mine has all controlerdata in
/recieve due to the groove interface but they are rarely found). they
are old so if something happens you may find it hard to find a real
decent serviceplace (inside they're complicated). besides all this it's
a great instrument .
for your purpose i think the A6 certainly is the better choise, more up
to date , elaborate midi and other possibilities,
16 patches multitimbral, take the effects for when you need them (live
usage or so). it has however a steeper learning curve and making a sound
fit takes more time. the service when something goes wrong is much
better available , buy one under guarantee. the price differences are
not so big and you'r always on the good side. old or new :, just test
them out .
i ment it when i said before that it's the ideal one to sit with on a
lonely island, on many other places afcourse it can also state it's case .
