[A6] Update, important

So I went to Alesis to pick up some equipment. (Including my ION, which is
really a good synth and EASY to program!). I didn't take along any notes or
list. But I mentioned the activity, and the reply I got was not too
encouraging. I have the feeling what spurred on all our actuivity was one Numark factory
service phone person back East, who has basic answers for things. We may
have hoped for too much...
The A6 sells, but not very much (the ION is a better seller still and
continues). If the A6 sold more often, Alesis might consider spending more time on
the OS, but they are not likely to. Those there are working very hard on new
products and updates for the ones that sell the most now (not the A6, I'm
afraid.) Just as before.

I mentioned some ideas we had all put forth to encourage more A6 sales:
Susan and I have mentiond offering them FREE mp3's to put on their website.
Finding out that Andromeda SOUNDS amazing should be easy - even a demo of single
sounds should show what other synths cannot do. If anyone wants to do their own
website (mentioned here a lot recently), it might help too - as anyone
browsing can see how good the A6 "community" support is - it makes you feel better
about buying something. [When I was a kid, I bought synths only after they
were discontinued - they were at a low price, with factory warranty, but I
KNEW all of what that synth would be - no more changes. We may be at the stage
with the A6, but that might mean we can help push other people not to worry
about it; THIS is the synth, not some promises or hopes. Nothing beats it at
what it does.] We could make it so that if anyone gets curious about the A6 -
they see a LOT of good things on the web. Have you all posted AMAZING reviews
of it on all the review sites? Maybe someone could send us all the relevant
links??
So - IF you can write and make proper bug reports, I will still compile and
submit a "clean and tight" wish list to them. You never know....
Cheers -
Brian K
