If the patch is corrupted, that is a value is out of range, the synth may 
freeze. This is known from other synths as well. Patch data can get corrupted
during a sysex transfer, that´s why usually a check sum is used.

The synth engine is usually not using code to do range checks at runtime,
which would cost performance. Waldorf once tried to do this kind of checks,
but the implementation caused more problem than it was trying to solve,
so it was removed again.

Usually you can´t get into such a state via the frontpanel, but I know one
synth, which may even then freeze in one specific combination of settings.
