I did some NRPN editing last night with Sonar on the A6. It's pretty simple
to use, and shouldn't be an issue if you know the steps. The website link I
posted could've helped, but if you are still unsure, I'll list a little of
what I did.
I made sure that my settings in GLOBAL->PANEL were set to send out midi
data. I was sending out midi data at DENSE to have a smoother sweep
recording. I then hit record and recorded the knob movement, and then went
to the event viewer to observe the parameter number that Cutoff filter 1 was
sending out. I noted that number, went into piano roll, selected NRPN and
typed in that parameter number. If you cannot view the NRPN data, just
select to ALL CHANNELS on the last box. I recommend expanding the view a
little, because the data only used 4096 steps. You can simply edit the
information like a normal control change at this point.
You can probably change the settings to display the MSB and LSB
individually, but sonar defaults to putting them together to provide a
14-bit number.
Control #98 = 16 [MSB]
Control #99 = 5 [LSB]
Sonar NRPN # = (16x128)+5 = 2053
