I have had a couple parameter-related bugs in the past, specifically related
to the mod wheel control in mix mode. (I haven't quite duplicated, but it
appears the mod wheel doesn't always reset to the program mode setting if
you switch between program mode and mix). 

Mix mode normally works just fine for me. I'm not selecting the sound
through MIDI however.

Have you gotten this error consistently?

Have you gone through some of the more obvious parameters (e.g. Unison-X,
CRoutes, any lights) to see if there perhaps is a parameter bug creating the
difference?

Maybe posting audio samples between a straight version and a MIDI-selected
mix mode version will help people pinpoint the problem?
