How long does it take to start up?
(PC motherboard, ftp server, 20G hard disk, hm...)

It takes a minute or so to boot :-(  Also, it uses the motherboard power
scheme with the momentary switch to turn on, and then turn off with an 'are
you sure' question.  Means when I power on the studio with my one big
switch, I still have to turn on Neu with another :-(  Also makes me worry
when I shut down with the main switch, am I leaving behind lost clusters :-)

Would it be possible to run the software on a PC and have a virtual
Neuron, or is there dedicated hardware (you said something about
'resynators'?)

Best I can tell, there's a standard pci dig audio card that goes to the
daughter board with the out jacks (to the spdif) and that board does the d/a
for the analog outs, but I might be wrong.  Seems like, yep, perhaps you
could (though I'm not going to cut mine apart until the warranty is up like
Aurora :-)
