yes, they were all there ... my a6 is currently open, what fun!

inside, i found that what can only be the voice board (on the right,
with 16 chips on it), is only held down by 2 screws instead of 6. when
i hold it down, the rattling gets much better. the same screws are used
to hold the three front panel boards in place ... so i'm thinking about
taking four of these screws and putting them on the voice board (no
spare screws at home). sound like a bad idea? i'll obviously take them
from different regions of the panel boards.

i think everything works, except i have a question about the ribbon
controller:

select some fairly basic patch (no arpeggiation or anything), hold down
a note, and run your finger along the ribbon controller. does the
modulation "skip" a little bit? if i do it very slowly, there is a
smooth continuum from the left to the right, but any faster and i start
to hear "hiccups". it's kind of intermittent. do i need to get the
ribbon replaced? any suggestions on how to make this go away?

i have until the end of the weekend to get things sorted out, i think
i'll be able to do it by then.

cheers,
chris
