I played with the Omega-8 at NAMM2001.

Andromeda has double the voices, a sequencer, filter feedback, tracking
generator, suboscillator & ring modulator per voice, the EGs have selectable
slopes with an additional release stage, and built-in FX. Plus that way cool
blue LED on the back :)

The Omega filters cannot be configured into notch/bandpass, and you can only use
one filter at a time. However the Omega does has discrete VCOs which do sound
huge, but such a huge sound is hard to fit in a mix. The Omega can out-flood my
Memorymoog but most MM sounds tend to overwhelm the mix, a bigger sound will
just be worse. The Andromeda doesn't do that, plus the palette of tone colors
on the A6 goes beyond the MM.

I find that the Andromeda is the chameleon of synths - it does a good job
emulating a bunch of vintage synths. Besides, how many analog synths can
produce the "Frankensteinwhey" piano sound?

Speaking from experience, tweaking analog patches from a board in front of you
is way more convenient than bending over a rack module.
