[A6] Mono/Poly - What am I missing?

In program mode, I wanted to switch a patch to being polyphonic,
so I can [of course] play more than one note at a time. So, I hit
the 'Poly/Mono' button, swithcing it to 'Poly'. The dialogue
indicates Poly is selected, as does the indicator light. However,
I can still only play a single note at a time, and only a single
voice is used, regardless of how many keys I press
simultaneously. [Unsyn-X is also off, fwiw.]

Any clues as to what I'm missing?
