I switch between single and mix, depending on the situation. If I'm using
the a A6 for a great deal of voices, I like sitcking with mixmode to get a
general 'groove' in the song. I rarely run into issues, unless I plan on
using unison or large pads with a lot of FX, but even then I usually run it
through outboard gear. I usually don't like recording to audio until I know
all the patches are tweaked for the song, but I have done it if voices were
becoming an issue. There are certainly ways around the limitations of the
A6, and the MixMode IMHO is not 'broken'. It's amazing that they fit 32
analog oscillators and 32 filters on the damn thing already, it's not going
to have all the perks of a Virtual Analog that runs in DSP. I don't
understand why Cyril is so angry, but if the A6 is not for him, he could
simply sell it. I did a lot of research before I even undertook buying the
A6 and I knew what i was getting into... Even after that, I had trouble for
quite a few weeks when I tried getting good sounds, because the A6 can go
from good to bad with just a little knob movement.
After I finally figured out the tricks to make good sounds, I gave up trying
to cope with old analog gear going out of tune.
