oh i still hear the difference.  i just realized i really don't care 
enough to need a room full of synths with no external control when 
compared to a cpu full of synths with every parameter automatable.  
maybe someday in the future, but the music i'm writing these days 
(tech-house) benefits from the crispiness of digital.
