Techno kind of died around our area due to state legal issues; so the main
people you see with synthesizers around here, aside from the odd surviving
90s Florida techno band, is the goth-trance / EBM crowd. (Chad's Goth Law of
Music: A genre is "dead" when a gothic version spins off it. :) )
Synthesizers are not too popular elsewise in this town. I'm unusual being in
a punk band with one. Half the soundboard guys don't know how to handle
me... hah :P

There's some nice stuff out there; but a lot of it is specialized. I happen
to like a lot of specialized stuff, but I'm not sure what portion of A6
users would be into goth-trance, ambient drones, or power noise. :) Or even
some of the synth-heavy indie rock bands that get in the IDMish direction,
almost.
Probably some of you would get into the 70s-lounge revival (e.g. Zero 7,
Air), or some of the more groovy ambient stuff. Then again, maybe not.
I honestly haven't heard a lot of new progressive that I've liked. They're
almost trying too hard; albums to me don't flow in the same way that a
classic Genesis album did. I remember liking some Threshold (who are more
prog-metal), and that's kind of it. Oh well.
26 is a good age to do music at. :)
