To me, the JP8000 is a decent compliment to the A6. However, depending on
what you do, it may not be necessary. To me, it's a nice, simple, digital
subtractive synth; with a nice, simple, digital subtractive sound.

Two caveats:

1) It's not analog, or anywhere near. Play a 4 osc unison-detune patch on
the A6 and compare it against the "supersaw". You will see how not-so-super
it is in terms of "fill". That isn't a bad thing, it just is.

2) My main caveat about the JP8000, is it is simple.

Good? Bad? Depends. You limit your room to grow. Unfortunately the JP-8000
does have a few cliches by now (supersaw = Eurotrance). You can avoid those
cliches, of course. Many people like simple synths because its easy to be
creative on em (less programming). And hey - cliched sounds can be good at
times. (Depends on what you are doing.)

But. For those who incline away from simple synths (I do :) ) there are
plenty of hardware software synths (Q, Virus, Nord Modular) (and PC software
synths, too) that have more versatility and can do all that the JP8000 can.
You'll get more sounds and more variety from more complex synths. You just
will have a higher learning curve and a higher initial cost. So it's up to
you...
