[A6] andromeda alternatives?

The Evolver is a magnificent beast, in particular you can do stuff in ten
minutes on the sequencer that would take half ana hour on the A6 - can't
wait till Dave Smith implements the midi out! Trouble is its monophonic so I
can't really use it as a windsynth while I am using it live as sequencer. I
could buy 2 of course, and maybe that's what I'll end up doing but in the
end the oscillators and filters, though analogue and though very nice don't
have the sweetness of the A6 - I'd really recommend it if you haven't tried
one though, it really is an instrument, if you know what I mean, and the UI
is very clever and simple, it doesn't have any of that designed-by-commitee
feel of a lot of modern synths... I love the nord micro too for what it can
do, but sonically it just never gives me the chills the way the A6 can.
Maybe my programming could improve and I'll get more out of my other synths
but currently I feel the A6 is the only modern synth I've found for far that
makes me feel emotionally connected with the sound, as a saxophone player
that is pretty much the level I like to work on, otherwise its just a load
of "interesting" sounds isn't it?
