[A6] Reverb settings: Large Hall

Thanks again. What you say makes sense, and is consistent with what I've always thought; there are some days I could swear, though, that the LDamp and HDamp on the A6 have been wired backwards. Probably just my not paying close enough attention.

Steve

Thanks, Jeff! I'm honored to have your response.

I have one "risking looking stupid" question about damping: I'm _assuming_ I'm correct in putting HDamp _below_ LDamp, in other words typically HDamp somewhere between .800 and .059 and LDamp somewhere between 1.400 and 6.200, roughly speaking?

No, L Damp damps low frequencies and H Damp damps high frequencies. On a hall I would leave L Damp alone unless it's too boomy, and on a Plate you can use L Damp to thin things out.

I do believe that the LPF is a major factor in the sweetness of the sound of the reverb.

Can you suggest some good, _musical_ sounding choices for use of swirl? The advice I've seen says, simply, "don't use it except for special effects," what's a _good_ reason to turn it on? <g>

Swirl is just chorus on the reverb. It can be an interesting sound on some things. It's also nice if you have a long reverb that sounds too static. Or if you want a subtle chorus, but what fun is that.
