[A6] Re: A6 Keyboard

Hello:

Just wanted to throw some info out there on this topic:

I just got an A6 about 10 days ago. I had to send it back to have 2 keys
replaced among other things (the details can be found in a previous post:
Follow Up Knob Behavior/Sound Variance/MIDI in). When I called today to
check on the status of the repair I was told that they currently cannot get
just two replacement keys. They had to order a whole keyboard. I said that I
was surprised because isn't it just a standard Fatar keyboard mechanism. The
response was that the current mechanism is not a Fatar. I have not opened
the Andromeda to look at it so in that context I cannot verify the maker of
the kybd action, but the firm/dealer repairing my board is extremely
reputable and they spoke with Alesis directly on the issue.

I will be happy to update the list once the parts arrive and they begin the
repair. At that point the A6 will be open and all will be revealed.
