This is intentional. This was done to prevent the MIDI input jack from
touching the ground of the metal chassis, which would create a ground
connection between the A6 and the other MIDI device.

This is tough to comment on, other than to say that with analog oscillators
and filters there will naturally be some variation between parts.

The latest code on the Alesis website should take care of this issue. There
are a few other little fixes in there as well.
