Hi Chris, got it! Thanks! It wasn't just to set the panel and keyboard to LOCMID, which i had already done, what i hadn't done was set the RXmode to On - so the data was being recorded, it just was just being ignored by the a6! I had no idea NRPN and CC data were the same thing, well now i know! With everyone saying stuff like "MIDI instruments that take CC's but not NRPN's." it got me a little confused as to whether it was the same thing for sequencers - and i'm using an incredibly old sequencer (well, not THAT old) so you can see what i was thinking. Anyways, just glad to have it working! So noone on this list is using hardware to sequence their a6 besides me?? I guess it might be just because i'm one of the ones crazy enough to gig with it, though i'm eager to get away from using the box it came with when transporting it.. Can anyone recommend a specific case for the a6? I know it would have to be something that does a good job of protecting the top panel. Remember seeing this on the list awhile back but i don't feel like poking through the archives all over again! Oh while i'm at it, whats the best SRAM to get for more User bank space? Those two things and i'm good to go! Cheers Kieran ===========================8<=========================================== Hi Kieran, Before we start messing around with MIDI-OX ... what exactly do you want to do? If you just want to record the A6 into your sequencer and play it back, there is no need to convert NRPN's. NRPN's are actually 2 x CC's, and they should record and play back fine if you have things set up properly. You only need to convert to CC if you want to use the knobs on your A6 to control other MIDI instruments that take CC's but not NRPN's. Make sense? In any case, it would help if you could first get to a state where you ARE able to record and play back the A6 using your sequencer. I'm not so sure I can help with that -- you might need to check cabling, manuals, etc. etc. One thing for sure, you need to set TWO distinct settings in the global preferences of the A6 to send MIDI -- one is for the keyboard, the other is for the panel. Make sure you have done this (you want them set to either LOCMID or MIDI but not LOCAL). (somebody else feel free to correct me if I've made some gross error in logic) Cheers, Chris _____________________________________________________________ goatrance.net - psychedelic trance and free e-mail service : http://goatrance.net
