[A6] Ribbon controller to play notes

I'm new here after joining the ranks of a6 users..

I'm still trying to get a handle on this monster synth and i was wondering,
Is it possible to use the ribbon as a trigger for notes as opposed to a
normal controller, for example striking the ribbon in certain places will
trigger a note. I get the idea a Doepfer ribbon controller can be used this
way.
There doest seem any mode set up to do this by default but with the
extensive modulation capabilities and such i was wondering if there was a
way around this? Or maybe i overlooked something? Possible considering I'm
an A6 newbie.
