fully agree, its a lot of synth for the money imho.

i don't think its a good plan to judge a synths value against its 
problems/cost/amount *you* get from it ratio rather than its 
character/usefulness ratio.

considering its functions the actual box is pretty empty in comparisons 
to some older synths but i dare say its manufacturing costs per unit are 
greater than the costs per unit of producing the virus for instance. 
the two really don't make for a fair comparison.  then in reverse the 
software development for the virus is going to outstrip the software 
development costs for the a6.  but we all know that hardware is a much 
riskier product.

seems only today that the chameleon II project has been cancelled partly 
for these reasons.
