I've found recently that this annoying problem goes away when I change
the filter speed to either "normal" or "slow" (usually). I would be
grateful if some other people could confirm so that I know it isn't
particular to my model (actually I can't figure if it's really worse to
have it isolated to my machine).

Attached is the Venus Bass patch. It came with one of the extra
soundbanks on the website so it's likely many of you already have it on
your synths. Play notes in the lower octave, and listen for a metallic
sound when releasing the key (present with and without effects). Now
hit the process button, select engine optimization, and change the
filter setting to slow -- the noise should go away.

You can get around it by playing with the VCA release times, but it
changes the character of the sound as well (as does changing the filter
setting). I'd guess for now I'd really like to know how many other
people this affects, if any. I tried moving my synth away from all
other wires and just plugged it into the wall by itself along with some
headphones, but it didn't fix the problem.

Cheers,
Chris

P.S. Happy New Year!
