well,. just got my "Brand New Factory Sealed" Andromeda today, with 2
year warranty cost me a whole 300$ extra, I sent the NFS one with the
iffy voice 13 and non functional mod wheel back.

With the new one I have a hole new host of problems, and some old ones
showing up in new areas.

When I received it the glass display plate was loose from the front
panel , it was sitting on the keyboard when I opened it, no biggie just
to put it back on really, got it setup in the studio, powered on and
began to test, here is what I found.

Voice 10 has the same problem my last Andromeda had with voice 13, but
the mod wheel works fine on the new one. :)

I had it crash on me a couple of times, was just playing the keyboard on
a default user poly patch, not playing with any controllers or anything,
notes started locking up, getting stuck like the sustain pedal was
depressed, I turned the unit off "popping noise from the mixer,. never
had the previous one make a sound when I turned it off before, when I
turned it back on a single line across the very bottom of the screen was
as far as it got into booting back up, I had to turn it off and on about
15 times before it booted back up all the way, then every time I turned
it back on and off that same line would appear in a different location
on the screen for a moment or so, I dont remember this happening on the
previous Andromeda.

Also this one doesnt seem to have as much of a low end as my previous
Andromeda, call me crazy but it doesnt seem to be as full in the bass
department, allot of the sounds have a somewhat noisy and "tinny"
quality compared to my last one, I ran the same midi tracks I made for
multitracking my old one through my new one and re-recorded bassically
the same tracks and compared them to the old ones, I didnt change any
mixer settings or anything, you can tell a difference.

this is all very strange, you would think that an andromeda is an
andromeda, some may have a iffy voice chip here and thier, but this
doesnt sound as nice as the last one at all, if I had demo'd this new
one in a music store I would have decided against buying it.

YAAAAARG

how many of these do I have to return before I get one with NO voice
problems or any other problems ??

have any of you experienced things like this ?

whats number of times you have had to return an andromeda till you get a
decent one that not only sounds great but is fully functional and doesnt
crash ?

Hopefully the answer is three !

If any of you have gone through this torment please give me some words
to help me keep the faith.
