[A6] Midi Sync/Clock Question

How do you get the A6 to do 3 below:

1.  TR-909 midi out into A6 midi in to sync Arp and Seq of A6 to 909 - done
and works fine.
2.  A6 midi out to Waldorf Q in to play Q with A6 as a master - done and
works fine.
3.  A6 midi out to Waldorf Q in to sync Q with 909 - done and doesn't work.

If I set the A6 clock to local with the above the Q does sync to it - I can
change the tempo of the Q Arp and Seq by adjusting the rate knob of the A6.
If on the other hand I set the Q to sync to external clock, I can adjust the
A6 arp and seq tempo using the 909 tempo knob, but the Q does not react to
it.  I have clock on the A6 set to out I believe.

If I use the midi thru on the A6 to the Q in, then it works but I can't play
the Q with the A6 then.  Can you set the thru on the A6 to send local notes
out as well?  There has to be a way to do this.
