I find that the ribbon works fine on MIDI as long as you don't have it split
between upper and lower (which is a big bummer).  Splitting the ribbon is so
useful, and it shouldn't choke on MIDI.  I would bet that's how you have it
set, and why it's not working.

Your ribbon light comes on when receiving the MIDI data too, right?  Just no
audible effect.  Yep.  That stinks.
