It sounds to me like it is best to keep the email list as is and just
build a home base page with links to everything. That way, people can
just go to that page and get what they need and not ever have to
subscribe to the email list if they don't want to.
(This list is not in danger of collapsing - it's been going strong for
several years supported totally by volunteers. We're just trying to
work out where to house stuff and divide the labor so that it's not a
complete burden on any one person, ie, Justin & Will.)
If we have a home base page of links housed on the a6.code404.com site
since people know that URL, then wherever the other things are housed
won't matter (correct?).
Justin, I thought that you took down the archives and patch archives
because the bandwidth was an issue (not to mention the fact that you do
not have an Andromeda and have just been doing this out of the kindness
of your heart.) When you took them down I volunteered to host them on
my site. Currently, I have the patch archives which David uploaded to
my server the other day. I was going to set that up on my site asap in
the next week. On my site then, there would be the T&T document and the
patch archives, if you still want me to do that.
Regarding the home base page above, I've really got my hands full with
the T&T document. I was really hoping someone else could do the home
page - I was thinking it would just be a simple page with a limited
number of pertinent links initially that could be updated and expanded
as needed - but if not, I would be glad to help with it if someone else
would work on it with me. If someone could feed me URL links I could
set up and layout the page. Maybe that would only take one or two
evenings to set it up. After that, there would be periodic updating
which someone else would need to do since I feel that the T&T is all I
can feasibly handle at this time.
So... please just work out what you want to do and let me know if you
want me to house the patch archives which I already have, and if you
want me to help set up a home page of links if someone will help me.
Thanks,
Sioux
