The current system just doesn't cater for everyone. There is obviously a
hierarchy in place on this list, which is fair enough as people have different
levels of understanding.
The only thing that annoys me is that I occasionally spend longer reading non
beneficial threads than actually using the synth itself!
As things stand I think I will probably leave the list once the updated Tips
And Tricks document appears. Mainly to concentrate on writing tracks, but also
because I find the current set up a little bit hit and miss.
Why not expand and open up the pool of information in a far more efficient
way? We all have the resources to contribute and make it work.
It just seems that the infrastructure of this list is in danger of
collapsing. With lost information and things written on the back of fag packets, let
alone everything being run from a server where we are becoming ever more limited.
After spending 2 grand on a synth you kind of expect a bit more support. In
that respect the list is great, but a decent web site (or just a web page)
would be infinitely better for my needs.
They are still manufacturing this synth so therefore the community will keep
growing. Ok, it will never be huge, but I think there are far more people
hooked up to this list than you'd think.
There must be numerous people like myself hanging around on the fringes who
rarely make posts. For me this is because I am more into the art side of things
and less into the science.
This doesn't mean that I want to rot away on some dodgy forum for hours,
although a forum would be useful. Just having an accessible pool of information
would be a good starting point for now.
