[A6] NRPN with Sonar

Hey guys. My apologies but I can not remember who I was talking with about
using Sonar to control NRPNs, so this is a question for him or who ever is
familair with Sonar. I just downloaded the demo of Sonar from the Cakwalk's
site and thought I try out this marvelous feature of controlling the NRPNs
with an envelope. I have figured out how to call up the menu to select the
envelope type, (this case being NRPN) but there is also an option to input
the control number. Now reading the A6's sysex manual, there are more then
one number to control any one function. So I trried controlling FILT_1
FREQUENCY POT which is

Parent (MSB) 18,
Child (LSB) 0,
NRPN ON,
Sysex Only default 0.

.... I tried inputing 18 as the control number in Sonar but this does not
seem to do any thing. How does it work? I am especially confused when it
comes to certain functions like FILT_1 RESONANCE POT which uses MSB, LSB and
Sysex Only defualt. Can some one please explain how they can control these
NRPNs.
