[A6] open VCA/ freerun?/breathcontrol

Richard and I have been talking off-list about using CC2 breath controllers to
control the A6 which is where this conversation came up. We have been trying
all we can think of. My theory is that what I really want to happen is for the
CC2 breath controller to act as the VCA, but how would that be properly routed?
What I've done is set CC-2 to the A6's CC-H  in global settings, and then
assign all the envelopes to analog mode from normal which is the default
(Richard explained this was to allow stacato and legato playing). Then I
started to assign CC-H to various things, env level mod on the VCA (doesn't
seem to do what I want), Richard tried modding osc level in the pre-filter
mixer (again no luck). I even tried routing the signal through both filters and
adding a mod to control the F2 level to the VCA but that didn't seem to work
either. Do I need to route CC-H to more than just env level in the mods list
for the VCA for the breath controller to modulate VCA level markedly? Perhaps
sustain, D1 or D2? Surely there are some people on this list who have a breath
controller and can assist or at least know enough about how this might be
accomplished to lend a helping hand.
