I've used the tracking generator to scale keyboard CV to filter
resonance for simulating traditional instruments (like piano, another
tip for the archive). I also use it to vary pulse width of a VCO from
keyboard CV. Works great. There are times you don't want linear
keyboard tracking.
One neat effect I've found with a looping envelope is to assign mod
wheel to the looping stage times. You get an LFO whose frequency is
controlled by the mod wheel, and it's faster than the standard LFOs. I
did a nice Harley Davidson patch using this technique, the mod wheel
being the "throttle". Alas, it was during beta testing, Alesis changed
something in the OS that affected my filter settings, and I never got
the sound back :(
