I put up some scans of the end cheek at

they're 150 DPI (pixels to the inch) for sizing. They're of the modwheel
side (obviously :-) If you look at image3.jpg you can see along the top the
little nick where the top panel fits into the endcheek (marked with the red
arrow). To make wooden cheeks you'd have to make the wood higher than this
or be a verrrry careful and precise router :-) but I suppose you could with
guides route a groove greater than 11/32" deep that close to the edge. A
groove 1/16" wide would be sufficient for the panel, but using a wider bit,
you need to be careful of course that the edge near the top fits (the inner
edge can be further in than the thickness of the panel.

image4.jpg is a scan of the top, showing where the panel sits and the
endcheek 'curves' around its edge. A wooden cheek would be straight across
here with the panel sitting into it as I've described. I should have taken a
pic of the inside of Aurora's wooden cheeks to show the groove routed to
hold the panel...

endcheek.jpg is an attempt to merge the two parts (scanner was only
8-1/2x11" :-( but due to parallax and the fact that part rested up off the
glass because of the length, its a little off, but still could probably be
used printed out as a cutting/drilling template pretty well with a little
care. I suppose you'd have to drill holes through it and screw them into
the metal inner endcheek from the outside.

Well, that's something to start with at least :-) As always, I make no
claims or warranties :-) Later
KRIS
