Yep. The demos to me are in the vein of "instant Hearts of Space". This is
very 01/W, D-50, Proteus, and especially Wavestation - good stuff sometimes
(hey I like a bit of D-50 in my deep ambient), but horribly out of date. Not
only are there cheaper ways to get that sound, but the sound isn't exactly
the sort of "trendy" thing you want to latch onto to sell a $5000 machine.
Even Hearts of Space is all Celtic/World now.

Maybe there's more to it, I don't know. For my needs, I need nothing that
complex for now (complex subtractive is far more intuitive to me than other
synthesis forms :) ), but exploration is fine for those with the desire. :)
