I agree. I've never gotten (but never really tried to get) an MS-20 type
of sound from the A6. No matter how aggressive you make it, it's not like
an MS-20. That's what the Frostwave Resonator and (sorry, Mike) MOTM-420
are for.

Just amongst the presets, there are good Minimoog, Oberheim and Prophet
-esque sounds. And the patch archive at http://www.code404.com/a6/patches/
has a bunch of Colin Chung's (CCJ) excellent Roland-inspired
programs. That's the beauty of the numerous VIEW buttons on the front panel.

Well, I don't know if I'd trust this reviewer:
http://pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/m/mushroom/mad-dogs-and-san-franciscans.shtml
but the sound he refers to as "ARP blats" is pure A6 (and not really even
that good of a "Baba O'Riley" 2500 imitation; I'm sure that the excellent
programmer on this list who's the classic-rock/Who fan would be appalled).
I mostly used the 12dB filter (HP level at 30, BP level at 25, Q=60), with
a bit of 24dB (level at around 25-30, low Q) for additional squelch that
seems to give it the extra Arp "bite" that I don't generally associate with
OB's. Obviously, on this sound, there's lots of S&H going on, which
confuses things a bit, but hopefully it's the right direction.
