Actually you don't really have to get quite as deep into NRPN editing and
technical specs if the sequencer does it automatically.  I only got deep
into MIDI, because I used to program applications that utilized it, and even
then I'm still unsure of a lot of the standards.

I am surprised that Cubase SX would not have easier NRPN editing.  I use
Sonar, so I cannot help you with that.  I haven't even tried NRPN editing in
Sonar either.
