The top of my wish list is a random arpeggiator. But based on this thread,
maybe there's a JP-8 in my future.
Get an old Oberheim Cyclone - incredible hardware arpeggiator. Blows away the
JP8 (which I loved!) and MUCH cheaper! Recommended for everyone on this list
(unless you have a software arp.)
FWIW: I am REALLY tired of hearing about:
1) slow LFO's (Believe me - The Alesis people were already unhappy with this
YEARS before you ever heard an Andromeda, but it won't change),
2) Poly Aftertouch (not hard to implement - BUT makes them no money, very few
people want it, AND they have stopped writing code for the A6. There was also
a list of other things to-be-done, ribbon stuff, random arpeggios, etc.)
3) OS development, we've discussed this to death.
Cheaper, Easy to use, hip-sounding instruments are what sell well. Korg M1,
Roland D50, Virus, Nord Lead, etc. Rarely do the
"pro-level/push-the-envelope" synths do well. Not many Expanders sold, but
there are tons of Matrix 6 racks. The DX-1 was a killer! - have you ever seen
one? CS80 did not sell much, but the DX7 did. On and on... Companies make
things to sell well, occasionally making something cool too. We already HAVE
it!
