[A6] modern analogs/what gear do you use to complement your

Actually, I find the A6 so beefy on a basic level that one of my
favorite patches is a simple one-VCO sawtooth or rectangle through the
Moog filter -- completely satisfying.

The A6 is a little bit clean, and for the most part the kind of dirtying
up you get overdriving levels isn't the sort I prefer. But other things
compensate -- particularly the ability to throw some light random tuning
variability into chords. It's amazing what that can do to, say, a brass
patch. I like subtly off tunings -- for instance I was disappointed to
hear the Evolver's sequencer is quantized, I think that should be
optional. I've listened to sustained A6 chords where the tuning would
change every few seconds and each variation, however subtle, really had
its own personality and conveyed something a little different. For me,
that's really important.
