100% agreed.
That¹s why I bought one..
The andro is the one that I was waiting for (that¹s why I use it live)
And my wish for a memorymoog went back to 0 ;)

But the comparison between Q and Qplus: trust me: the andro ist different..
The Q plus is still NOT an analgue synth.
It is a fine digital synth with analogue filters..

Since I have both I MUST say: it is more a complement to the andro, not a
replacement!! why? The sound is very very different..

It's not about bashing..
It is about sound!

Of course price and stuff counts..
In this case the voyager is for really rich ppl ;) (at least here in germany
it is 4200euro , 3700 for performer edition..)
But it is a moog.. This DOES NOT MEAN: it look good or something.. It
SOUNDS!
But there is also the name,maybe...

Also: you need to know what kind of sound do you like!!

I am not one of those who want analogue only.. It's up to the music, what is
good for you..

In fact: there are lots of good sounding synths out there but the andromeda
(and the sunsyn) are outstandig new analogue synth that "have balls".. ;)

At least THIS is why I pay so much money (yes, it was much much more
expensive when I bought it..) but I do NOT regret it!.. It is a good
machine!!

Atm you need to built synth with discrete electronics or ASICS. And you are
right: there is no other company that is able to built ASICS..
And do not expect yamaha to make an andromeda type of synth ;)
(and a useable UI..*haha*)

Why talking about competition? Most ppl simply search for the best set.
Some "collect" synth..
But if the money is short and you don't get mad you will choose the first
option.. And this is a good chance to find the andromeda ;)

It's a bit sad, that the a6 ppl had to leave alesis!..
I also thought they would make some more nice models

The coolest one would be an analogue modular synth based on ASICS
Including digital modules,too.. So one could have analogue OSCs and filters
and sync/ring.. (and also be able to ringmod the filter OUTPUT or patch your
own synth.. Hybrid modular with great sound to carry around like a nord
modular (ok, one more octave to have enough room..)

It may take long to get THIS THING now..

So, maybe numarkalesis may get the idea and get those ppl back to work ;)
We are here and we like good MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS..
